I'll dance to tonight
Safe as long as I'm moving
No one touches me now
Hands without skin, oh so soothing
Lovely night
Free myself from heavy guilt on my shoulders
Stillness in the cold
Peace comes crawling up my bone
In a solitary move
I am moving away from you
I am moving away from you
Lovely night no need, but one
Let go what I hold in my hands
Let go what I hold in my heart
My head
My chest
Ocean helps man to forget
In a solitary move
I am moving away from you
In a solitary move
I am moving away from you
I am moving away from you

i bet she listened to suzanne vega's 1st album, over and over and over
We all did :-)
Nice tune but.... It might be more betterer if people write lyrics in their first language, as it might actually make sense.....
In that case I wonder what Neko Case's first language is ...
Now itis $900+ on Amazon! Wow.
Spotify?
But the moo puns.....

Udderly ridiculous.
Got milk?!!?
Agree, my favorite Suzanne Vega album. I'm catching a bit of Annie Haslam from Renaissance too.
Maybe the alternative was a face without eyes.
It's like you're asking me which eye I'd like to be poked in...
Ternheim really makes the title into one helluva hook.
BillG explained albeit briefly his song selection process on one of neighbouring FM stations in California and from what I recall, I can easily see him choosing this song.
FWIW, already had it rated 9. Own Separation Road, might have get this CD too.
Agreed, it reminds me of Eyes Without a Face. What was supposed to be so great about seeing that, Billy?!

It must be pasture bedtime.

More terrific music from Sweden!
I agree. Maybe a Small Blue Thing...
Totally! I hear that similarity too
If Anna Ternheim sounds like Mazzy Star to you, I suggest that you see a doctor about your aural equipment. Ternheim has a clear, crisp and melodic delivery; Mazzy Star has a slurred and laid-back delivery which sounds like she's stoned.
Yeah, I concur. Each time this song comes on I stop working and listen. That's a pretty good sign!
Hmmm, I do have some vacation time due....
great Anna!
Is hidden in these lines:
Let go what I hold in my heart
My head
My chest
Head and chest in the heart cause carbon emissions.
U.S. (where I live) still far outpaces China in carbon emissions per capita. Plus, by refusing to support the manufacture of virtually any goods here, we effectively outsource an additional chunk of carbon output. The U.S. espouses impressive ideals, but our lifestyle is a dead end for the rest of the world.
The US is far more developed than China and has far fewer people than China. It therefore stands to reason that USA's carbon emissions per capita are greater than China carbon emissions per capita. However, USA's metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions per capita as of 2011 has declined for two years running, the last time the US had declining CO2 for 3 years running was in the 1980s. According to this Wikipedia article, however, a UN study claims that US carbon emissions peaked in 2000 and fell every year after that until 2008 when the UN study stopped. Given the economic downturn and America's embrace of its huge supplies of cheap natural gas, per capita emissions have likely continued to fall since 2008.
That 2011 Guardian article also notes that according to the Energy Information Agency, China is emitting more carbon than the US and Canada combined. China's per capita carbon emissions have increased 170% since 2000.
Here's another source on carbon emissions per country. As of 2008, China was well ahead of the US.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_carbon_dioxide_emissions
According to this article, another UN study notes that the US is the #2 manufacturing country in the world--$2.43 trillion vs. $2.9 trillion for China in 2012. So the US is still manufacturing things, xkolibuul.
Wow! That much!
And yes, you're right, the US consumes and produces an extraordinary amount of polluting forms of energy. Things are changing slowly here, Stingray, but they are changing. Pretty soon China will overtake us in terms of carbon emissions.

You Amis must be kidding!
We pay ca. 8.50 $ per gallon!
Why are you whining? It's mostly (!) you destroying this planet!

Well, I paid $3.99 a gallon yesterday, so which part needs help?
ps Love this song.

Good call, I'll add it to my new Land of Nod playlist, which currently only features Serafina Steer; Sophi Zemani and Nellie McKay will be in there, as well.
My mistake...
Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. — Matthew 7:6
Anyway, I have been saved... hope you be having a marvelous night across the pond...
everybody in my church loves this song...
A miracle - Lazarus has risen again. Hallelujah!
I hope your church is as much fun as the Vegas hotel room...

The word I heard was that he caused a ruckus in the listener fora and Bill gave him the bum's rush for being antisocial. I doubt that he'll be back.

Agreed. A search party needs to be organised. I will assemble the team in the lounge at the Flaming-o at 11:00. We'll have a drink or two, then listen carefully for the sound of dancing...

RP played Boy & Bear and then Anna Ternheim. I have seen both artists in small venues with not much more than 100 visitors. Fortunately most people have no taste.
Lucky You!

(and reminds me of the unforgettable class when Stan Slaughter, our amazing 9th Grade Science Teacher, showed us on the oscilloscope how during her "Mellow" vibrato the waves appeared to flutter and then begin to flow backwards...making those gratifying spinal shivers practically visible, even if far from fully explained...)
I have to agree don't understand the boredom here.
Hard not to yaaawn!
I'm so tired of her.
what's she singing about?
hands without skin are soothing?
The guitar comments are interesting. Actually, until her voice kicked in, I thought this was a Nick Drake song that I didn't know.
Well said ...
Yea, that was my reaction, the ghost of Jerry noodling back there.
Well, sheesh! Don't you know it's dinner-time here in the east. Please...
I like this a LOT... fantastic guitar work (minor key?) and a haunting melody... great voice...
Well said sir!
