Home again
Home again
One day I know
I'll feel home again
Born again
Born again
One day I know
I'll feel strong again

I left my head
Many times I've been told
All this talk will make you old
So I close my eyes
Look behind
Moving on, moving on
So I close my eyes
Look behind
Moving on

Lost again
Lost again
One day I know
Our Paths will Cross again
Smile again
Smile again
One day I hope
To make you smile again
I won't hide

Many times I've been told
Speak your mind,just be bold
So I close my eyes
Look behind
Moving on, moving on
So I close my eyes
And the tears will clear
Then I feel no fear
Then I'd feel no way
My paths will remain straight

Home again
Home again
One day I know
I'll feel home again
Home again
Home again
One day I know
I'll feel strong again

I left my head
Many times I've been told
All this talk will make you old
So I close my eyes
Look behind
Moving on, moving on
So I close my eyes
Look behind
Moving on

I saw Michael Kiwanuka perform at the Greek Theater in L.A. recently. There's something about his voice that makes my shoulders relax and the furrow between my brow soften.

This song was deployed to magical effect in the official film of the London 2012 Olympic Games. The whole film has an incredible soundtrack, but this one accompanies Michael Rudisha's amazing 800 meter world record, with shots of him running in Kenya, and it's breathtaking. Seek it out if you can, the music alone is worth a watch.

I remember that!

["born again" is an oxymoron]

.... plenty of religious nutters share his ignorance

It's a metaphor, you dolt. Clearly, the one lacking the smarts is you.
singing along because of William and co!!! ❤️
This is an absolutely gorgeous song :)
"A move is the beginning of a new life, new stories, a new daily routine. And it is not always easy for a family."
One of the best singer/songwriters of these last couple decades.
I am so pleased to be able to rate this (and give it a 10!).
I heard it years ago on RP and haven't had the good fortune to hear it again until now...
I always thought this was Jack Johnson or that "hey Mario" guy. Forget his name right now.

Why are you being so offensive?

RP has trained my brain to expect this after Rickie Lee Jones.  Not a bad thing, but at this point I'm not sure what would happen if something else came on in its place.  Brain might shutdown.  I could use some shutdown time.

Time to shut down and repair your decision processes

dang...this song sounds a lot like Willis Alan Ramsey...IMHO.  And, just to be clear, that's a good thing.
This is to be filed under 'This kinda crap for people who like Vance Joy'.
Also a bit like Taj Mahal but more real.  Play more!

June 1, 2018. Played after a Tori Amos song.

Did your brain shut down? {#Cheers}
More Michael Kiwanuka please. Love & Hate, Cold Little Heart are RP perfect.
Didn't disappoint on 3/29.  Right after Rickie Lee.

I believe his parents were from Uganda, not Nigeria.

My life will not be the poorer if I never get to listen to this again - oh I've already forgotten it...

Very nice song!!!
Just discovered this guy. So good!  His new album is really great. Check out some videos on YouTube.
I never want this song to end.
This song gets right to my soul! Thanks RP for your great song selections.

I first heard of Michael Kiwanuka from watching the Watch Listen Tell channel on YouTube. A lot of interesting up-and-coming artists, usually doing acoustic pieces in the park or something similiar.
What I've heard of this album has been excellent. Trying real hard (and succeeding, for the most part) to sound like a late-60's/early 70's record.

Thanks for on that excellent YouTube channel!

He really is good.

This is just what I needed to hear, which is odd, because I have never heard this before...:)

If I didn't know better, I would have bet it was Keb Mo.
I simply LOVE Michael Kiwanuka. I was very surprised when I heard him the first time on Radio Paradise.
I downloaded his album in November 2012 and it became the album which I corralate the most with my first trip to New York. So many memories. Please check his other songs too. He's quite a gem!
What a lovely, lyrical song.

NY or SF or Yomiuri?

The NY Giant grew up here (Boston); the singer grew up in London, so I think, "Nope.  Not related."

Mathias Kiwanuka grew up in Indianapolis and attended college in Boston.  They both are of the Baganda ethnic group, however, and could have been related - regardless of where they each grew up - but they are apparently not.

You bring it to the point!!

Such a great song !!!
Time for a bump _ 7 - 8!
If there's any justice at all this guy will become a HUGE (not size wise!) star.

That certainly sums it up for me :))
I've assumed this was Ben Harper this whole time...

Yes, the guitar and melody do.  The voice sounds like Ween somehow.
Is this guy related to the dude on the Giants?
Beautiful Song, instant favorite! And once more wonderful RP introduced me to a formerly unknown artist :-) Thanks to Bill & Co.
Sounds like Jack Johnson

A bit? I swore JJ was singing backup and playing guitar.
Once again, RP has introduced me to another wonderful song from an unknown (to me) artist! What a great place!

Saw him on Craig ferguson's show last week signing this song. Downloaded the album shortly thereafter. Very nice :)

Definitely want to hear that again.  The opening really caught my ear.
