And the raindrops tumble all around
Heaven opens a magic lane
When all the clouds darken up the skyway
There's a rainbow highway to be found
Leading from your window pane
To a place behind the sun
Just a step beyond the rain
Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullabye
Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why, then oh why can't I?
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why, then oh why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?
Play the original!!!
Yes!! I also like this version too. 2nd to the original. Thanx RP!
I'm gonna have to go ahead and sort of disagree with you there.
Yeah, gotta agree to disagree with that questionable sentiment...
why?
OK ya didn't like it 7 months ago and you still don't, point made.
And why not?
its this simple.
she has the greatest voice ever recorded.
every freaking note is pitch perfect. No dissonance. No friction. Pure silk.
her timing and phrasing is perfect.
and she had an ear to pick the best musicians.
there's no comparison.
You nailed it, Mr/Mrs/Ms (?) Wind !
Let's not forget the great Yip Harburg who wrote the lyrics (also wrote April in Paris).
YES!
uh, no.

Judy Garland - 'Over The Rainbow' Live (Ultra-Rare) ..... will get you there
I'm not a big fan of the song, but her voice is incredible!
Same here! This is the BEST version that I have ever heard!
Thanks for this one. I think over the last year or so we've purchased at least a dozen of her records. Wonderful.
Friday's are beer, pizza, and records and this Friday's spins will be All Ella! How does Bill do it?
My wife and I are huge fans, thanks for playing such wonderful music.
Hands down: the greatest voice God ever created.
No one comes close.
I can only assume you've never heard Kathleen Ferrier
sublime
The divinity in Ella's superhuman voice really struts its stuff with this song.
Idunno, i agree Ella's voice is perfect but there is a lack of emotion and phrasing when she tackles the emotional stuff. It's as if she "can read" but does not quite understand what she is reading
I'm gonna have to go ahead and sort of disagree with you there.
I had the same thought.
"Listening to to that song reminds me of listening to Judy Garland when I was 8 years old. I had such a huge crush on. her ...
... until I found out she was older than my Mom!!"

Bill must have some preferences
Okay, and now wind of change by the german band "scorpions". This is the perfect moment for a toilett break *aneuropeantrauma*
And again on a Wednesday...Auto Programmed
Very fair. Beautiful but somehow too perfect.
No one comes close.
Jazz voice...no arguement after the pedantry.
What?
No one comes close.
And on this friday he did it again.
Followed by Vienna Teng.

It just isn't my speed.
And I just looked at this set list..."wish you were here", "bring me home", "over the rainbow." Particularly poignant today, as I learned this morning that an old friend passed away far, far, far before his time.
And on this friday he did it again.
Followed by Vienna Teng.
Even on this piece of schlock, Ms. Ella is perfection.
I know, I know, but she has such a wonderful portfolio, this isn't even in her top 20. But she does do it proud.
Some people simply have no soul, so to speak. Ditto your 9.
Yep, Bill keep giving us good reasons to drink! And to own comfy leather chairs.
