Oh, here comes trouble
Put your helmet on, we'll be heading for a fall
Yeah, the whole thing's gonna blow
And the devil's got my number
It's long overdue, he'll come looking soon
Yeah, the whole thing's gonna blow

Oh, here comes trouble
These people talk too much, need to shut 'em up
Yeah, I'd rather be alone
Can you, can you feel that rumble?
All this borrowed time, it's been running out
It's the ending of the show

But I know now, yeah, yeah, I know now, yeah

Everything's gonna be okay
Oh, I keep telling myself, "Don't worry, be happy"
Oh, you keep telling yourself, "Everything's gonna be okay"
Oh, I keep telling myself, "Don't worry, be happy"
Oh, you keep telling yourself, "Everything's gonna be okay"

Oh, I've changed my number
Wore disguises and went undercover just to
Just to hide away from you
Oh, my ghost came a-calling
Making noises 'bout a promise I had broken
Oh, I'm gonna be lonely soon

Oh, here comes trouble
Put your helmet on, we'll be heading for a fall
Yeah, the whole thing's gonna blow
And the devil's got my number
It's long overdue, he'll come looking soon
Yeah, the whole thing's gonna blow

Everything's gonna be okay
Oh, I keep telling myself, "Don't worry, be happy"
Oh, you keep telling yourself, "Everything's gonna be okay"
Oh, I keep telling myself, "Don't worry, be happy"
Oh, you keep telling yourself, "Everything's gonna be okay"

Everything's gonna be okay

I have been thinking a lot about the economy lately, and this song pretty much sums up everything I have been thinking.

funny, this comment is from 2017 when the economy wasn't our biggest problem. was doing a rennovation w/kazoo and he was doing okay, things were good enough despite some challenges.

now it's 2022, kazoo is gone and the economy...well let's just say i'm closer to retirement now than during the last recession. but telling myself everything's gonna be okay isn't different from being hopeful - something i've managed through some f'g interesting times.

i see what happens when people give up. how can things get better if we give over to "OMG poor me"? am trying to help other people and hope that 'high' gets me to a better time/place/frame of mind.

hmm. sounds like the Jamesons talking but this is simply an old RN figuring out how to make it through until things are better...and knowing things are okay and very grateful that I am really blessed compared to a lot of folks out there.

here's to better days - and these aren't bad, honestly. different? challenging? how about better than it was so many times before. Cheers
Love the muted compressed kick, tight gated snare and bass guitar right on top of it all. Almost an 80's drum sound but it doesn't feel old.
HKGK...

Yeah to the absolutely tone deaf person that said this sounds like Coldplay…. Might wanna get your ears checked.
the video to this is beautiful
This is a total Coldplay sound.  Was sure it was them for a long time.
Heard better, but good message...

Then you're not listening, or living  in a mountaintop castle.

This is my mantra... Everything's going to be okay.

(Even if it's not - lol)

This album is incredibly good !
creates a beautiful sonic landscape

Don't usually go down the 'sounds like' route... Too many trip hazards!

Always thought this was Beck, but better than most. Now I can check out TVOTR for other songs

I do love RP and my acoustic education!!!!

Trouble is song title. TV ON THE RADIO is band. I really don't know much at all about them either!! But, in full agreement on this tune!! How very apropos to my life!!
Voice sounds like the guy who sings "Tokyo Rose". (From the band Idle Eyes)
Everything’s awesome when you work with a team! ;-)

Distracted by the fine tunes, I expect.  I love RP and I love the comments pages - they really help me through my day.  Thanks, friends.

That's not like you Proclivities.  He is not asking a hypothetical question - it is a rhetorical question in the fine tradition of RP listeners and in that way he is inviting us to respond if we wish to.

As far as I can see that is what most of do on this forum, so yes DaidyBoy, I think they are a really good band.

just a good song with a whole lot of thought into how to put it together
Dang, I love this song!
I saw TOTR in concert a couple of years ago.  They were amazing.  Their albums, especially this one are great.  Easy to listen.  Vocals and tightness of the band are exceptional. If you aren't a fan of TOTR I would recommend you start with this album and work your way back.  You won't be disappointed.

Great song.  The whole album is terrific pretty much.
TV on the Radio has a knack for making songs with great lyrics and great music.

They also make songs that do not all sound too similar to each other, which is a nice plus. The band itself is eclectic.

Yeah, canned percussion is difficult not to hear, now that you point it out.

I really enjoy this music vid.  Set the video quality all the way up when you view this one.

It started when I saw the ship go down,
I saw them struggle in the sea,
And suddenly the picture disappears,
In front of me.

Now we're busy making all our busy plans,
On foundations build to last.
But nothing fades as fast as the future.
And nothing clings like the past, until we can see,
More than this,
More than this,
So…

This ... on continuous loop for the upcoming US elections
Always think this is the Foo Fighters when in comes on.
I have been thinking a lot about the economy lately, and this song pretty much sums up everything I have been thinking.

Though exceptionally basic (2 chords...). But well produced, I agree.
No matter how many times I hear these guys I just don't understand the appeal.
Nor all if their songs (not music) are good but this one is leading off my summer mix.
This band is like a box of chocolates.   But this album is all chocolate covered cheries.

It is hard to discern the difference in the lead singers voice and inflection to that of Matt Kearney.  Listen to both and its as if they are the same person.
Need to add "Right Now" off this album ... right now
Is it just me, or is this a really good band?
love the guys voice

Welcome back Bill.
Great bass & melody & trance....
just the medicine we needed today - thanks Bill!
