But keep that song away from me
In my time too much love
Has made me sad for so long
I was lost, can't you see
Through the long lonely night
Heaven knows, I believe
Won't you take a chance with me
Sometimes I get so blue
People say I'm just a fool
All the world, even you
Should learn to love the way I do
I was blind, can't you see
Through the long lonely night
Heaven knows, I believe
You can take a chance with me
This song, the whole album, represents a time in my life of choices made, regretted and finally accepted. I shiver with delight whenever this song plays…
Same! very much love this album.... Thanks Dave W.
Still LOVE this album - still married to the same beautiful woman - and still haven't paid those tickets .
Good story. Thank You for sharing it!

To me, Roxy was one of the few bands (Queen and Rush come to mind) that were so unique, they didn't seem to be as effected by changing musical trends.
affected?
It took me nearly three years after first hearing The War on Drugs to realize that that little nagging thing I kept hearing in their songs was Roxy Music.
Fantastic, both the influencer and the influenced!
Love both but can't say I hear RM in the Drugs' work. Except for maybe the long instrumental fadeouts. I'd say the main influences for the War on Drugs are Springsteen (guitarist and band leader Adam Granduciel named his kid Bruce), Dylan, and Tom Petty.
This is a "10" album in my book.
Mine too!

Nice to hear this instead of the usual 'More Than This'.
But even more than this I would like to hear some of Roxy Music's older work when Brian Eno was still in it. There is none of that on RP's playlist.
Fantastic, both the influencer and the influenced!
Can we hear some stuff off the first few albums also? Please?
Excellent intro.
But - overall - this album is quite wonderful.
