Actually, Wheel in the Sky is on the RP playlist.  RP should add more.

To my ears, Look into the Future (the title track and the album) was a stupendous, unusual stoner rocker epic.  I still have the album, I bought it new in '75 or '76 in a Boston record store for chump change.  Now that you remind me, Apple is my next stop for several tracks on it.  The delivery of music may change, but some tunes are timeless.
Santana is a dish best served LOUD!

It strikes me how quickly time goes by! I was 15 when this album came out, it wasn’t until ‘72 that I was really introduced to it. Man…

Ain't got no one that I can depend on (cocaine white lightning)?
I was introduced to Santana back in the 80s through Mexican-American friends in the military. Two of them died in the service of our country. I always think of them when I hear this. I saw Santana live in 2011 and I dedicate that memory to them. Saludos!
More Cow Bell!
Wearing headphones & trying to work.
I think I have just been thoroughly Santana'd!!
Those first four Santana albums were so good. Takes me back to 70`s

Never enough cow bell.
This is a damn fine bunch of musicians. Neal Schon came on board on this album, only 17 years old. When I started buying albums as a young teen, Santana was one of the first three. I still have it, half a century later, and never tired of it.

On headphones, this is just incredible.
*pant*pant* gasp. "I need a glass of water please. Maybe a cigarette too."
"You don't smoke!"
She wipes her forehead,

Back in the day when I was a mobile dj I remember I often used to pop this track on when testing the equipment. i.e. when setting up - get the sound system working 1st and crank up some music while you were working!

It brings back a lot of memories and I have a tingling down my back of the expectation of a night to come full of dancing, beer, spliffs, girls, fun, fights, flashing lights, smoke machines and all that went into those marvellous and simple times.

Awesome memories!  I also remember listening to Santana in my early years of smoking MJ, way back when I was 17/18, and I think I used some of my Columbia House or BMG "freebies" on several Santana discs (and PF and Doors) and something about Santana, with nice headphones, really got me feeling great!
They're playing at "The House of Blues" Vegas- Jan 25-29, 2017, see you there!
Funny, I was just thinking about how the guitar in the previous John Osborne track had a similar tone to Santana.
The two guitars playing the same riff in different keys is just exquisite!

This whole album is spellbinding. Blow your fookin' ears off. I think the best of the Santana bunch, back when it was the classic pulse pounding tidal wave of sound the band and he made their names on.

Cover art is spellbinding.  OK, maybe you had to be there.  Music is also spellbinding, and will be until the day I stop drawing breath.

Really should listen to Santana from this period. His current stuff is almost Muzak, the latest in particular.

I've been told he has a massive ego. Well, with his godlike playing I suppose that's reasonable.
It's Telex.

Santana is great I remember when I used to go to outdoor concerts he was the best.  Played all night if you let him. Love his jams his new stuff is real good too

Supermusic!

The first 4 albums are bona fide classics (and yes, I gotta agree, some of the later stuff is pretty lame).

I love it when the bottom just drops right out in the middle of the intro then it all kicks back in hard, like A Ton of Blue Bricks! Kinda like the situation the dude is in here. It all sure resonates Deep and Blue through Life, too!

Good point.

Neil Schon does all the "wah wah" stuff and in general has a wilder sound.

Now that's what I call MUSIC!

Rock on!

Will always sound good. So good. So damn good!
really cool
Nice!
A tad 'busy' for this time of day.

{#Yell}  "no tengo a nadie!"

I like Santana, in general. However, I must admit his improvisations tend to be a tad predictable ... this particular track is a little cheesy ;-) {#Sunny}

Not a big Santana fan, but have always dug this one.{#Clap}

Are your ears painted on? This isn't their best, but Santana has made a few almost perfect songs.

Please play "Samba Para Ti" at my funeral.

Sweet, delicious cow bell...
Who are the all-time great virtuoso cowbell players?
I wonder how many years of practise it takes to really wring a
full, rich, warm tone out of a cowbell? And I heard that the cowbells with the
best tone have spent at least five years around the neck of a Swiss cow
exposed to the driving rain, blistering sun and levee mud of the hillsides
around Bern and Zurich.

Same old Carlos........Still leaving tracks in the sand, that no one else can follow.....{#Cheers}

Did you check with your headphones on? I am right now switching between the RP stream and the flac format rip from the CD. Same . Cowbell in the right ear along with lead guitar. Bongos on the left and the rest of the band in the back center right. Drums in the middle back. Ah, now the separation just changed between the flac copy and RP. Maybe a transmission anomaly? Still with headphones it sound very together and not muddled. OK, now I just switched to the Klipsch speaker system using 7.1 sound ... pretty much the same here.

Beats me, bro ...

Can't depend upon anything these days ... Nada!

Cheers,

Dave

Could it have used more cow bell, though?
I'm trippin' on this one................... y'all dig the bass work (and everything the heck else) on this mutha'

Carlos is a minor god...well, major, musically. Every note is sweet ephemeral beauty.

Paul Reed Smith brand "guitar noodle soup".
"no one to depend on"... and most everything else by Santana; he's just as amazing in concert as on CD. I never get tired of Carlos..
I ain't got nobody..... That I can depend on..... More profound words were never spoken nor sung.

This is pedestrian Santana. Too bad he has not ventured beyond pop on more occasions.

Although he's a great guitarist, I've just never liked the Santana sound. The guitar "solo" here really is outstanding. It's the song on either side that grates on the blackboard: "I ain't got nobody........." Some of the dullest stuff to ever get played ad-nausium on classic rock - a real waste of talent.
Every song is the same, goes on for 10 minutes, and bores me completely to tears.
I've liked Santana for years! Great beat.

Ay Carumba! Carlos.. Tu eres un hombre malo y tu guitar is un weapano de mass destruciona!
Now he depends on lame jam sessions with slightly modified guitar solos for a quick buck with quasi-rock-boy bands like Matchbox Twenty and that other guy who sings like Bill Cllinton with a sore throat (the guy who they play ALL the time on radio stations "You remind me of who I really am")
Ahhh... pre sell-out. Excellent!

Carlos forever!!!
The unmistakable sound of Carlos...not his most inspiring tune, how about a bit of caravanserai...

Damas y caballeros, el gran y Santana maravilloso
Sounds sooo good without the teeny bopper bimbos singing along!

I've seen him twice live, once in the 80s, once in the 90s, and can testify he hadn't lost it then. Still hasn't, IMO, though I like his more recent pop stuff less. I also met him in a Safeway once.
